Flip Side February Women’s Tournament – Memphis, TN
February 26 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm CST
Sunday Women’s Tournament at Flip Side!
As many rounds of 4-player group Match Play for qualifying as possible from 3pm-5:30pm. The last round of Match Play must commence prior to 5:30 (slight adjustments may be made to this time due to unforseen delays that reduce qualifying gameplay duration). This is expected to be ~10 rounds. Scoring for qualifying and PAPA finals will be 7,5,3,1 for 1st through 4th place finishes, and 7,4,1 for 3 player games. If there is a tie for 4th place, a “Play-in” tiebreaker game will be played of the tournament director’s choosing.
Prior to the first round of group matchplay, participants will be allowed to cull up to 4 machines from the game bank based on group consensus. If no consensus is reached (I.E. If 9/10 players agree to remove a selected machine but one player objects), the game remains in the bank. Culled machines will not be added back into the game bank for any reason. Game bank includes all functional pinball machines present (Normally 16 at the venue).
PAPA style 3-game finals for top 4 from qualifying (or 50% of player pool, whichever value is smaller. I.E 6 participants will equal only 3 players in finals). The top 3 finishers from qualifying will each select a game for the 3-game final. Top seed will select order position first for the first game, and position selections for game 2 & 3 will be in reverse order of the preceding game standing (4th place for game #1 picks order first for game #2, Third place from game #2 picks position order second for game #3, etc.). Game order will go in seed order (top seed game selected begins the first game of the finals, the #2 seed’s game selection will be the second game played, & the game selection from the #3 seed will be played as the last game of the finals. If there is a tie for first place, all tied players will play a one game tie-breaker of the TD’s choice, and order will be selected by TD (either via consensus or randomized).
